I would like to suggest, that as I’m fairly certain a number of fully street-legal vehicles do not comply with those standards from factory , that they can go fuck themselves.

Unless they indexed on the SC/Rambler as the tallest factory hood scoop and it’s actually exactly 2 1/4, and if that’s the case, What The Fuck, Man.

Alternate solution - cut down the windshield and fill in the space beneath it until the bottom of the windshield is 9" off the hood.

That’s actually... a HUGE scoop. 2.25 inches is from the dash and windshield, not the height of the front. If your hood rakes down any amount, you can get a huge one on there. 52.25 inches long? Have you ever actually seen a hood scoop longer than four feet? More than a yard wide?
